Shangchengwei is the first university-industry collaborative unit in China to focus on the research and development of water-in-sand and water-in-water multicolor coatings. The Materials Science program at Jinan University ranks among the top 1% globally in ESI rankings. The institute takes “Without bold speculation, there are no great discoveries” as its research motto and “Details determine success or failure, attitude determines everything” as its work standard. It continuously develops new products and improves the performance of raw materials for water-in-water and water-in-sand multicolor coatings. Currently, it has successfully developed over a dozen types of protective adhesives for multicolor paints, which have received consistent praise in the market. The R&D center boasts outstanding professionals with doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees, and is committed to becoming the highest-quality multicolor coating raw material R&D institution in China, contributing to the development of water-based exterior wall coatings in the country
